Role overview
This permanent, full-time, on-site Analyst role is based in Montreal on National Bank Capital Markets' Real Estate Property and Mortgage Brokerage team within Real Estate Investment Banking. The role supports debt placement, equity advisory and investment-property sale mandates from underwriting through closing.
Responsibilities
- Support live brokerage mandates, including debt placement, equity advisory and property sales.
- Underwrite investment-real-estate transactions and support client decision-making.
- Prepare proposals and offering memorandums using market research and analysis.
- Conduct property-level due diligence and review appraisals, building-condition and environmental reports, leases and other legal documents.
- Build financial models in Excel and Argus and perform property valuations across major asset classes.
- Work with senior brokers and bankers on origination, execution and closing activities.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, real estate or a related field.
- One to three years of relevant commercial-real-estate experience; brokerage, advisory or capital-markets experience is preferred.
- Exposure to debt placement, equity advisory or investment-property sales is strongly preferred.
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, including Excel and Argus, and knowledge of real-estate capital markets and debt structures.
- English and French are required because the role regularly serves clients who speak a language other than French.
- OACIQ and/or AMF licensing is an asset but is not required at the Analyst level.
