Investment Banking Analyst

Role overview This is a permanent, full-time Investment Banking Analyst role with Ventum Capital Markets in Toronto. Analysts join lean transaction teams that provide capital raising and financial advisory services. The role is generalist, with exposure to equity offerings, debt financings and M&A advisory across mining, energy, technology, consumer, health care and diversified sectors. Responsibilities - Support senior bankers in financing and advisory mandates. - Build financial models and perform discounted-cash-flow, comparable-company, precedent-transaction and industry-specific analyses. - Analyze financial statements, monitor capital-markets and industry trends and maintain industry databases. - Prepare pitches, proposals, management presentations and confidential information memorandums. - Participate in client calls and meetings and support business development. Qualifications - Undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in finance. - At least one year of capital-markets experience, preferably in investment banking. - Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills; knowledge of Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ and FactSet. - Strong financial modelling, valuation, organization, communication and quantitative skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Compensation The employer lists an annual salary range of $70,000 to $80,000.
